A little more of the place
Málaga works beautifully when culture and sea air share the day. Put the most active part first and save some energy for the evening.

Fortifications and views
Two historic sites that bring architecture and views into the same day. Read the city's visiting information and allow for hills, shade breaks and sun, not just map distance.

Wine tavern · small plates
A historic tavern on Alameda Principal serving Málaga wines from barrels alongside seafood and pickled bites. Think of a short stop rather than necessarily a full restaurant dinner.

Sunday
See the produce at Atarazanas Market when open, or head to Pedregalejo for the seafront and seafood.
Ready-made route
Begin at the market when it is open and at its liveliest.
Walk via Calle Larios and the smaller squares.
Climb before the hottest part of the day.
Have a late lunch and continue along the harbour.
Finish at the beach or with a relaxed seafront walk.
Times are suggestions. Check opening hours, tickets and local transport before travelling.

Street art, culture and a more contemporary city feel.
Close to the beach, harbour and Old Town.
Slower beach life and seafood just outside the centre.
Good to know

The Cercanías train is often the easiest connection to the centre.
Markets, museums and restaurants may follow different opening patterns.
